The design of the new Ferrari 499P was refined with the support of the Ferrari Styling Centre under the direction of Flavio Manzoni. The car’s technical and aerodynamic  features have been enhanced by means of simple, sinuous shapes: - an explicit expression of Ferrari’s DNA.
The 499P's hybrid powertrain combines a mid-rear power unit with an electric motor powering the front axle.
Built on an all-new carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, the Ferrari 499P features solutions that represent the cutting edge of motor sport technology.
The first victory comes in the most prestigious appointment on the calendar, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the Ferrari had already obtained the front row of the grid in the Hyperpole.
In the race, car number 51 driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi brought the Ferrari back to the top in the french endurance event after fifty-eight years.
For the Maranello house it is the tenth success at Le Mans, in the centenary edition and after half a century of absence from the top class.
The model is sold on a finish line base.
